Anthem Blue Cross is the California affiliate of Elevance Health and an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Association, with roots in the state tracing back to the 1930s. Anthem serves Medi-Cal, Medicare Advantage, commercial group, and individual members across California through one of the largest provider networks in the state. It is a Two-Plan Medi-Cal partner in Los Angeles County alongside L.A. Care and operates Medi-Cal lines in more than two dozen counties, with deep contracting in behavioral health, hospital systems, and value-based primary care.
